You can keep the motherboard if you don't mind having a shit CPU but you need a graphics card and if you have enough money buy a new motherboard and a i7 2600 or 2600k.

That motherboard will never be capable of running anything near an i7 Chipset.

Also, that motherboard only supports DDR2 which is absolute complete shit and for the GFX card, it depends if it is AGP or PCI-E. If it's AGP then he has absolutely no chance of getting a decent GFX card cause AGP is hella old.
