Could work if employer is really dumb.
Would this work?
1. Go to a local game store.
2. Look at the cover of a game for a while (could even be mw3 in the future ).
3. After looking at the cover for a while, ask an employee if you can look at the booklet for the game (inside the game or they might have one at the counter).
4. Take a picture of the key with your phone.
5. Later, once home, enter the key into steam.
6. Profit?
Most game stores (a tleast here) don't even suspect that you'll get the key, they just give you the booklet to look at thinking you just want to know more about the game.

Isn't the key in the case a game serial not a steam key?
i will give you money for mw3.
u get a cd in the case, and u use the code to activate the cd. ******
you could probably download a copy that asks you for a key
It wont work unless the employe is a total idiot
It depends sometimes..
What if the code is for an Add-on.. Then you're screwed >_>
Try it out
How about you just tear the foil off yourself, and then quickly watch yourself?
If you do this in some large store, I am quite sure no one will even 'catch' you.
When they do catch you just tell them the foil was teared off already, and act like a child not knowing there's a CD key inside
It could work but the employee must be really stupid try a girl employee
No discrime to girls just they don't know alot about games etc
