Yet if you say wow you're a dumbass, learn to read what the thread is about you receive an infraction for it

eg
a thread about a certain video game
Someone comes a long and posts something about a different game and says donotwant this

We're here for discussion, so you don't get infracted for discussion. You get infracted for insulting other users. At what point did you think it was "okay" to call someone a dumbass for posting on topic material?

Perhaps I would be more persuaded by your argument (not really, but at least see it as somewhat valid) if the act in question was something that would warrant classifying that person as a dumbass. It doesn't.
