Alienware X51 ?

What do you guy think of this new pc from Alienware? I'm planning to buy my first desktop, which I will mostly use for gaming such as Skyrim or Battlefield 3. Will this be a good choice for me to choose or there is some others desktops out there that can handle the same games with cheaper price? Thanks

Alienware is Overpriced crap overcloacked to self destruct after 1 month.
Just assemble your own its much cheaper and much better

Nvidia GeForce GTX 460: £120 (can't buy the one Alienware offers as it is OEM only)
2 x 2GB 133MHz DDR3 Dual Channel Memory: £20
1TB Serial ATA 7200rpm: £55
DVD+/-RW Drive: £25
Sound card: Built into motherboard - free
Wifi: Can be easily purchased for around £35
Case of the same quality as Alienware: £60
Motherboard of the same quality as Alienware: £100

Total cost of computer: £545
Alienware's cost of computer: £699

That is for the lower end of the Alienware X51 series.

Note: I took no time shopping around for them parts, I ran a simple Google search and noted the firs or second link for each one.

As you can see, if you build your own it will be much, much cheaper.

If you're gonna buy from Alienware, you're gonna waste hundreds of dollars that could've went to better hardware when custom building.

Dude, only by alienware if your too lazy to save money and do something with your hands. Alien is Bose of the pc world, top-notch quality, but with an entrance fee just for the brand name.

I bought an Alienware(Laptop), then I learned how to build my own computers(desktops).

Only reason I still got my Alienware is because its a really good laptop, and I'm not going to build one anytime soon.

ya building a laptop would be a completely different story

Put it this way, for every $100.00 you spend on an Alienware machine, you lose $37 of profit. To buy a $2,000 alienware machine you could have got the equivalent to a $1,260 custom build desktop. A $740 profit is alot. Don't you think so ?

I love Dell monitors. Expensive price tag but excellent quality. Same with Apple Cinema monitors.

While Alienwares are insanely over-priced, they are still good computers. They are good computers, you can just do way better for your money.
