What are patched hacks? If I use them, will I get banned? Or patched hacks do not work?

You mean the old ones.
They will mostly like NOT work.
And they will change WRONG addresses/offsets and may trigger a ban for editing something that can be very bad.
(But some MAY work, but mostly like NOT.)

If you use the new updated once you are safe.
So use the new once. (There is already an updated of the KS Changer.)
