"Open With.." Problem

Ok hey guys, I was trying to try some skin mods when I was doing great until I accidently opened the file with the wrong program. I want it back to the original state where there is no program to run it. Is there anyway I can get it back? I'm getting really annoyed right now at it. I've been trying for 2 hours and about to pull out my hair.

Right click the file, go to properties, press change.
Find the program you want to open it with.
If you can't find it it on the properties page, go to 'Open with' and find program you want.

I just want it back to original, I kinda want to restart from the beginning instead of using another program is there anyway for that?

I'm assuming it's a dtx file.

Go into the registry using Run -> regedit.exe

Press ctrl + f and find the name of the program you accidentally changed the default file opener to.

Find the registry key that has the file extension of the file you want to open with a different program.

Delete that key.

Now, reopen the file, and its defaults should be restored, unless I'm sorely mistaken.

If a file can't delete and also has no extension, then the file itself is broken/data for the file is corrupted. Try adding an extension by renaming the file. (eg. Test.exe)
