Simple AK-47 Edit

Hello MPGH this is my first edit and im not that good at it... even though this isn't that great i wanted to upload it so people can give me tips to get better at skinning. So before you start flaming me, instead just give me a tip or something i could have done better. If you want to edit it your self you can do so but don't re-release it.

Pretty impressive for a first mod.
Not a whole bunch of spam colors like I usually see.

Go to your camo layer and set it to overlay so it will be actually on the gun and not look like you slapped it on there.
I like the text and the skull

Thanks, one question, why does my camo/camos come out in poor quality (in game) compared to what i put it onto as (dtx file)?

Cause its not overlayed. Haha

It's because Combat Arms runs on a crap game engine that has faded and different colors, which makes the .dtx look much better when not viewed in-game.

oh ok, thanks, im going to have to keep that in mind... is there anyway to force it to have higher quality? like what some people do with counter-strike skins

Unless Nexon decides to update Combat Arms engine, which they won't ever do, I would suggest either using photoshop to darken/lighten the gun and sharpen the textures and images. That is what I tend to do when I want better quality textures.

Though you are completely right. His camo looks the way it does due to it not being on a overlayed layer.

The camo looks horrible, you should just change the color instead.

Im working on my camouflage skills, and texture skills. Ive made my own tiger camo so when i make another skin it will look A LOT better of course camo isn't everything and is over saturated in skinning but w.e
