Solve the right, substitute for X so that left = right.
You need to clarify your equation more before we can understand what it's asking.

Take the natural log of both sides then solve for x.
2x+1=4 => 2x=4-1 => 2x=3 => x=1.5
Then I would go back to the equasion and put the "x" into it:
32(1.5) + 1 = 34
33+1 = 34
