Smarter mobs!?!?
From around 1.5, the mobs were like moving around the whole time, but now, mobs are not moving an inch if I'm not in radius of them. I just built a giant mob trap with 18 mob floors, and mobs are barely jumping into my kill floor. I have put signs so that they would recognize it as 1 block, but...no luck.

The spawning room is not even big...I checked out the floors and it was packed with mobs, but they weren't moving an inch.

Is there anyway to get mobs to move around or like any mods or anything?


I would appreciate any replies...in my previous post I did not like the amount of replies I got.

Well, yes. I think Minecraft due to the fact that they're completely rearranging the API - that's besides the fact though. Minecraft wants to make it as much of an MMORPG feel, they're most likely going to make the mobs much more.. smarter and what not.

Also, add water and obviously the water flow will bring them to the end of the floor, which will cause them to fall into your kill floor.

I can't add water, because mobs don't spawn on water.
Here is a quick brief screenshot of my mob floor.

Though, they'll FALL in water if you move around. They should move round often, like in circles, etc.

They don't. They stand still and all they move are their heads. If they DO move, they dont like move AROUND, they just kind of switch their standing position and back to square 1.

This is SSP? Do you have any installed modifications? Or is this Bukkit?

This is Single Player. Yes I do have modifications..I have a texture pack, modloader, too many items, and shit.
