Formatting a 200GB portable drive to FAT32 so I can backup mah PS3 started 1 1/2 hours ago and its only 60%... That normal?
Hmm, A. Was there a lot of shit on it? And B. Was it a full format? If so, I wouldn't doubt it. Seems a little long, but oh well.

Nope. Only had 15GB on it and yea, reformatting the entire thing so it can be read by the PS3

Aff about 2 hours to get to this point...

A format should take less thatn 5 minutes. Especially the FAT32 file system. You must be manually clearing every sector, which you don't need to be doing.

O-well, midaswell wait for it to finish now...

After all that, this is what happened...

Actually it's because my MAC has a superb CPU.
It's probably because you're not using quick format.
Quick Format is the best solution.
it is actually normal dont worry

Are you handicapped? It should take less than 3 minutes.
@OP
Use "quick format"
I did Quick Format but it didn't have the option of changing it to FAT32, only exFat and NTFS. Thats why I had to open up the Command Prompt

If you don't use quick format, expect it to take a ton of time.

Righto, That would explain why it took so long
