Minecraft connection issue

I can't find an answer to my problem at all. Ever since I updated to 1.3 when ever I play Minecraft, single or multiplayer my connection goes to complete trash. When I run MC I can not do anything else internet related. For example when I run MC and try to watch a YouTube video it will barley load the page and when it does the video doesn't even buffer at all. I was really hoping someone could please help me. Thank you for anything

When I put in a server, It takes like 30 seconds to find it

Wasn't related at all. He was meaning when he uses/runs Minecraft, he's unable to do anything else computer related (IE: Watch videos, etc).

When 1.3.1 came out, it had major problems. It output HUGE load amounts on servers, and literally would stress a 1-1.5GB RAM server. 1.3.1 was the stable version, but it wasn't "server-ready". My friend had a server, and when he upgraded to 1.3.1, the server went to shit because of how laggy it was. His server would crash 1-3 times in 30 minutes.

I don't know if they fixed it in 1.3.2, (but I believe they did). I think what you're talking about has to do with your computer itself. Minecraft is stressing your computer a bit, not allowing you to run/do other things normally.
