Just wondering, how much do u pay monthly for internet?

My family pays $20 a month

for DSL internet from Verizon(yes, they are that cheap)

which is suppose to have 1 mbps download speed and 0.5 mbps upload speed... and they refuse to upgrade it saying anymore than that is too much

Prolly around there. I only get 150kb/s-200kb/s speeds. In between the 20-30 dollar range.

1 mbps down and .5 up? Holy fuck, that's low as hell..

I have Roadrunner from the TWC high-speed package. I don't know how much it is for the internet itself since we have the triple play (phone, tv, internet) but all together it's like 150$ monthly?

I get 25 mbps down and 10 mbps up. With wifi I get around 18 mbps down.

Lolol. My cousin has free wifi all the time around his apartment and it gives him like 18 mbps down and .9 up. Unfortunately, my neighbors have passwords on their wifi :/. I don't really care since I have my own.

Back in the day, that only got you a 56k connection. 1 Mbps honestly isn't all that bad, but I guess with YouTube and everything, it kinda is.

sometimes i get 1-5k ping in multiplayer games, worse than people playing from across the world

Oh please, there are hundreds of thousands will dial-up and they are grateful to even have internet. If you want a faster internet, tell your parents you'll pay the extra.

Unless you're sending over .5 mbit up which I doubt, it's not the cause.

65$ with Verizon FiOS.
