My experience with the maximo keylogger.

Okay guys, this is going to be easy or hard to get through(THATS WHAT SHE SAID) but people are working on a way to remove this. Personally im doing a system restore to yesterday and am going to edit this post with my results. By the way, does anybody know where i could find the keylogger program within a vista computer, because i seem not to have a conf folder(Yes i am also viewing hidden folders). If anybody knows about this, tell me please. I do know i have it though, because i have the firefox.exe always running in the background and restarting itself. It crashes every now and then too. That's either it or vista, i dont know whether i smell virus fail or vista fail...

Edit 1: Wonderful, my hard drive appears to have some file system corruption. I dont know if i had this already or if this was caused by maximo. Oh hey the keylogger crashed again lol.

Edit 2: Because of my hard drive corruption, and vista's gay inability to fix that (FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), I have almost no way to fix this other than speak to maximo myself or restore completely with a new copy of vista. Sort of sucks that HP does not know how useful restore discs are, and decided not to include one with my PC. I also have the option still of installing windows 7.

yeah i noticed my fire fox kept running inb ackground to so i uninstalled it in safe mode and searched T.N.T in the windows search and delted it all in safe mode now im using the trial avg to finish the job, now i have safari for windows btw

Guys im a windows xp user and i have maximos sht too and it just made my computer freeze so i had to restart windows please does anyone have an idea how to delete the fkin keylogger? btw how do u do a system restore can u teach me please?

I think I had a key logger the other day but all I did was delete the folder exited the logger through task manager and restarted computer and im pretty sure its ok now, because I wouldn't delete the key logger till I restarted the computer because it was running. now its not running and I can delete the folder/file itself.

its a remote access trojan, so he can do whatever the hell he feels like. download porn, reformat your hard drive, heck, even spy on you with your own webcam.

Confirmed by Maximo (Who posted the hack) that system restore will completely remove the files.
No other method will work.

The only other way to remove it is to have him "uninstall" you from his botnet, which he did for me.

Yup i unplugged my webcam and mic and all that. If my virus scanner cant remove it, which apparently maximo confirmed that you can only remove it with a system restore, so i doubt that it will, that gives me an excuse to install windows 7 RC. But ya, either way, this is annoying as hell.

Well I would ask him to remove me, but are you sure that its right to trust the guy that infected your computer in the first place? just saying... though i don't doubt that he would remove anyone. Oh and sorry for the assumption that this is a keylogger, its just that i see everything is being copied into a file called logs.dat

I can see why people are paranoid.
Sorry for the numerous edits, but this is interesting. Whenever i type a single vowel into something, the process crashes. It's quite fun actually...

How do i put myself into safe mode and what did u say i need to do to remove it again?

Most people don't know how to properly run a virus scanner, let alone things like HijackThis.

I pmed Maximo right after he posted it and we talked a bit.
When he found out that I was infected, he decided to start opening my CD drive lol.
We chatted more on MSN and he removed me from his list.
The files are 100% gone.
(No, I will not ask him to remove you and I will not tell you his name)

Can you at least ask him why is he doing this to ppl like us? i mean what have we done to him that he was to torcher me?? can he at least talk to us?

Yup, well my comp decided not to boot twice, and now it wants to check my hard drive for consistency. I'm not sure if this will fix it or not. Anyway, if this doesn't work I'll use another recovery method I have.

I'm going to go to bed and check on this stuff tomorrow, hopefully I can fix my computers problems.

Well deleting the files won't do shit. The files will just recreate themselves. I would suggest a system restore as others have said, unfortunately my computerwont let me do this. But restoring To a restore point should do the trick, make sure the point is from before you tried to use this "hack"

A good thing for when you nstall hacks now, is to always scan hacks, and never believe just what is posted by the creator. I need to sleep now...
