No I'm not. He gets money for the number of subscribers he has and whoever clicks the ads on his videos. The number of views on his videos just determine whether he can become a Youtube partner or not.

I'm under the impression you get paid per x amount of views as well lol.
A company has to pay to have it's ad displayed on a youtube video. Regardless of it getting clicked, the ad is still getting displayed.
