The fiscal cliff

If you've not been in a dark dank cave for the past 2 months you know what the fiscal cliff is.

Should we go off the cliff or hit the breaks?

We would go off the fiscal cliff if the tax breaks for the the rich and middle class expire and make huge cuts in government spending. It would hurdle us into a recession at the first of the year. But then we'd recover and the economy would stabilize.

Or we could extend tax cuts reduce spending and avoid the cliff for a number of years; maybe enough time to solve the crisis.

And to me it seems like the people who want to drive us off the cliff are the liberals. Because when the economy is shit, what's to stop the government from nationalizing everything and having everything run by the government. Obama would like to see nothing more than a command economy. And that's where things get tricky. If we extend the cuts for the rich and middle class then our government could attempt to solve it. But if we don't happen to solve it, it will send us off an even bigger cliff.

I'm a Moderate republican. I see that going over the fiscal cliff and recovering naturally rather than Obama's want of socialist reform. But since that won't happen, I have no Idea what the government should do.

Yes, economy will eventually recover, but how long and by the time it does what will the country have become?

Not only that, many Western nations and some Eastern nations will be hurt badly by us, and don't simply say fuck them because they are our allies
That being said, I don't side with Obama because he's done jack diddly squat
Obviously the best strategy Imo is to target corrupted companies and people (Goldman Sachs, Norquist, etc)
What I would do, is cut spending for military except for research and equipment for troops that are moved to the Mexican border
Also, increase more funding into education and sciences
Reform the healthcare and tax system (I don't fucking know how)
Give tax cuts for the lower middle class
Increase tax for rich that INHERITED their money OR did NOT MAKE it themselves

Getting higher taxes for the rich ruins the idea of euntrapenuership. Just today 2/3rds of the millionares in england have moved out after the tax rate went to 50%. Instead of getting revanue, the rich moved out causing a loss in taxes of £47 billion. And having a tax that takes away inheirited money is fucking stupid. T call it unearned is stupid. Those people earned their money. Sure the didn't build a business from the ground up, but that money is theirs. You can't just go around Telling people that they don't deserve something. That's like black book communism right there. And going off the cliff and not recovering would be a perfect chance for communist obama to take all of the businesses up. Yes, I know taxing the rich ruins entrepreneurship, that's why I only said inherited people. People like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs build their fortune and businesses from the ground up, created a lot of jobs, and improved computer technology. People like them shouldn't get tax raises. By inheritances I speak of people like Paris Hilton and such. I know I can't go around forcing my beliefs on others, that's why there's Congress I would have to go through, otherwise it'd simply be a totalitarian dictatorship (note: TOTALITARIAN, another subject as to why I mentioned that extra word). Anarchy != Communism. I said I agree with some liberal views but not all, so don't generalize me as a liberal, and don't generalize liberals as Communists nor even socialists, all three are different levels of the left wing.
