Instant Respawn?

Was playing BL:R and using a custom built rifle using the standard assault stock in a KOTH match vs someone with an SMG. I was using it as a semi auto to keep recoil down the entire round, and this guy pops around the corner. He usually gets me so my semi auto came pretty close to full auto. The moment he killed me with his SMG (can't remember if it was burst fire or just a normal SMG) I respawned at one of the generic spawn points.

TL;DR
I was clicking really fast when I was killed with an SMG and respawned instantly. I may have pressed space too.
I mean it was literally an instant respawn. The camera didn't even have time to shift to the third person.

Any idea what might have caused this? And could it be exploitable?

I haven't been able to reproduce this yet, as to lack of time in general + the servers being down shortly afterwards.

This exactly happened to me more than once. Because it is a client error (I think) it should be exploitable (but I don't know how).

I don't know if it is patched or something. It seems that re-spawn choose system is done clientsided, so you could exploit it.

Someone could try to edit the re-spawn delay with CE to ensure it is clientsided.

The respawn time isn't client side, it's server side. If you wanna try, speed up the game at like 300% and blow yourself up with a grenade. You'll see respawn become available after about 3 sec since the timer go down so quickly, but the server won't let you respawn before the normal timer.
