EMS and GMS are at completely different points. 90% of pservers are GMS versions. I'm sure if you could find the version of EU that corresponds with GMs then it might work, however you most likely will end up lacking certain: Skills, weapons, classes etc.

Yes, alot of older( Specifically v83 GMS) servers have their own Skill.wz item.wz and other.

I had to download the full game because the server I play on is v55

You can join any private server from anywhere, AFAIK no private server EVER has blocked ANY region of the world...

And private server websites have tutorials how to join, download etc. Nearly every private server has their own version, edits, and all of them are older versions, so you have to download the full setup ALWAYS on the server's website.
