Imma design a microprocessor
and then eventually upload it onto a CPLD I have in one of my labs. I just spent the last hour working with a very tedius (but simple) design for my registers (basically a bunch of D flip flops w\ some data routing.)

Anyway, today I designed my first register IO unit, and I think its pretty cool. Just showing it off.

What will it do in the future?

Remember the state of the registers in a microprocessor. So basically, its kind of like RAM (not really, but if you aren't familiar with the architecture of a CPU its the best analogy I can give :S)

Well then, I can honestly say you're further along than I am. I'm still working with basic PIC controllers.

We haven't done microcontrollers yet :S What kind of program are you in, ours might be slightly different.

Self teaching myself actually, I got my inspiration from wanting to create a graphic equalizer with el-wire and an arduino chip. I just started working with Rasberry pi though, and damn that shit is much easier to work with capability-wise. Love microcontrollers!
I'd like to get into electronics someday (when my wallet allows lol). Circuit design just amazes me.

The only problem is it costs money for actual parts, which is why I just stick to programming in assembly and C because it's free and at least for assembly it's quite close to the hardware. Granted, I'm still poor at writing drivers, but I'm still getting there.

Currently rewriting my floppy driver. Also still a little stuck on FAT12 directory listing but i'm pretty close to a solution
