If you could automatically become good at any language, what would it be and why?

I would go for Cantonese because Hong Kong is cool, they have way better movies than the rest of China, pretty much all good Japanese stuff gets a Cantonese version so that's good for me, and they have the most traditional written language compared to Mainland China, more traditional than Taiwan too

Would totally be Norwegian because it's just fucking awesome.

I think learning another language that uses an alphabet would be too hard for me, I need chinese characters, they are so logical and REALLY help in context. There are many words that sound the same, but are written differently in characters, so the meaning is always clear.

For example:
Place
Where's that place?
I came in 1st place.

While in a language with characters there are no words written the same with totally different meanings really.

And words Japanese and Cantonese sound somewhat similar, so that's good too.

I can already understand some written cantonese just cuz the characters are the same in Japanese, but that's about it now.

Japanese isn't that hard, you can get very good in 2 years, reading writing speaking and listening

I've already learned lots of the letters and words from anime and manga.

Kanji is very easy if you learn it the right way, you can learn all the general use Kanji (2000) in a matter of months

You can learn 30 Kanji a day in 90 minutes easily, and then you do that for 2 months and you are pretty much done with learning kanji.

Don't know why people make it more of a problem than it has to be

Hmm, i would learn......some european language.

German, Russian, or Latin. All three could be used to mess with people.

The logic is to be able to learn the most useful language.
Consider learning one of the world super powers that will eventually lead the world economically, or in other ways.

You also have to like the language, because if you don't it will be a pain to learn and the chances of you going to the very end aren't as high if the language is repulsive to you, no matter how useful it may be.
