[Help] Change game textures

Change game textures

Hey

I assume it's possible to change sound and texture files. If so, it would also be possible to change UAVA's 512 resolution textures (that pixelated armour, yuck!) into KAVA's 2048, or am I wrong?

If that above is possible, could someone with a KAVA account be willing to upload its AVA folder? Or at least the folders containing the textures.

Even better would be if it were possible to download KAVA installer without an account, if the direct link worked without being logged in.

It's possible but to upload 8 Gb files and folders for texture. *Nah* And it is not easy like copy and paste to overwrite the same file.

So you would need to edit KAVA's texture files so that it matches whatever it needs to be matched to fit UAVA's? That's too bad, I though they would be a perfect fit. I mean, they probably got the same name, and for efficiency I though they'd be the same, just with an increased resolution.

And about the texture files' size, you could probably compress 8 gigs into about 5 gigs. A few week ago I sent my UAVA folder to a clan mate via private torrent, and I got it compressed from +/-5.5 gigs into a 2.96 gigs. What are 5GB of seeding in 2013

EDIT: I guess you could send just 1 or 2 textures to see if it is actually possible.

Reason why I'd only use a tampered folder with an alt account to record transitions and other crap for montages...

Have you ever thought that if it's possible someone would do it already ?

And if SteelSkinz would do it. You would be waiting forever(or a few months) because just to make a skin she said it took a day.

If you had read the thread from the beginning you'd realize I though it would work from the start, other people said it was either impossible or very hard to achieve.

And I'm not familiar with SteelSkinz's work, but I assume she had to actually modify the files? I was looking to replace or adapt already existing files from another AVA version.
