Looks pretty bad. Remove the background and it might look better. A logo is typically used on websites, signatures and the likes. Having a huge (ugly at that) background makes it look bad.

It's a start, and for starters, a logo typically has no background. Now, if you were to remove that background, clip the splatters to the text, then it would look ALRIGHT. Keep practicing, dude!

This is better for a logo rather than a background. But, good job if you didn't use a PSD
