Alienware!Sounds like an issue with the software you are using to record. Try something else.
Also try disabling all the extra crap on your system.
- Your background changer.
- Your Windows theme/skin changer.
- Any extra junk Alienware preinstalled.

Like I said try disabling all that extra junk on your system first.
Otherwise sounds like the game might be blocking it.
