Mobile UI Design Discussion

So the title basically says it all, how do you guys go about designing UI's for mobile devices (Android specifically)? I just use the Eclipse IDE with the android development sdk plugin for designing apps but I find that I am utterly terrible at making nice designs. I really like coding functionality of the app, but I just fail so hard when I try to design an interface for people to actually enjoy and benefit from the functionality. I just want to cry sometimes when I look at my finished ui in the designer lol. So there's my pitiful intro ( i am horrible at starting discussions, if you haven't noticed), now it's your guys' turn.

UI design is not a strong point of mine either. I tend to stick to writing out the backend code to be pluggable into any situation so that I can get someone else to help design a UI later down the road, or to give myself space to come up with a design later on. In some cases I Google for themes to various things like blogs, forums, etc. to get some ideas / concepts and such in my brain when I finally sit down to work on the UI aspect of a project.
