Though at your level of programming I don't see why you shouldn't try freelancing for clients who need applications written. You can try some internships also since you're in college, get some "work experience"
There is also freelance translating if you are really good at 2 languages. Pretty easy also, but you just need a portfolio of your work. Pay varies on clients of course though.
