Updating A Bukkit Plugin

I've been waiting for a plugin to update for awhile now, and the Devs seem to have quit/taken a break/etc. How would I update it from 1.5.2 to 1.6.2? I know absolutely nothing of Java, so be patient with my oblivious-ness and descriptive in the explanations.

It would take amazing Java knowledge.

More so assuming this is a worlds plugin.

Maybe get LordPancake to do it? You might have to pay him though.

Well, I can't pay anyone until I get donations through the server... and I have no idea when it will be up, since I can't pay for hosting. Anyway, I would do it myself, since it seems like something interesting and different to mess around with, I dunno. Maybe I should make a request for Java basics, since I've been wanting to learn Java for ages. Thanks for the quick reply, though. I like that. :3

I don't do plugins (Never looked at the source to one. Shouldn't be too hard though since I have a few plugin devs on skype) or money. However I do plan on making some paid services later if I have the time.

Also, if you know nothing about Java, wait. Otherwise you're bound to screw up something. Just hold your server on the version /w all the plugins and wait for the vital/all plugins to update.

Well, I already have it set up for 1.6.2.

Yes, actually. I had this idea for a Marvel vs. DC server and, fortunately, I came across the set of plugins within the same week.
Basically, the setting is New York City, where you pick your favourite hero and battle "to the death," to say the least. I had many ideas with different plugins, such as using a killstreak system and a health-increasing plugin to add health to heroes as they fight... sort of like a bloodlust. After much work, I finished everything... only to wait on the plugins. Sorry... a bit off topic... Well, answering your question again, yes... they are necessary.

I've already messaged the Dev about the idea... and I haven't had a response for a week or so.
