Does eggcrack test username as password?

Does eggcrack test username as password?
The title says it all. I want to know if eggcrack tests that.

Also when I use it I only get 1-2 attempts per second is there a way to speed that up?

nope :P oh, and yes eggcrack tests the username too :P

Just load *usernames.txt* like password.txt

that would take too long if she/he doesnt have a good proxy so ye use textmechanic merge text line by line tool
