Since this is a high-traffic area, I figured I'd ask here.
My Nexus 7 2nd Generation is amazing (My opinion) and everything, except it has died twice due to an unknown factor/app or feature.
It's currently running Android KitKat (4.4.2).
It has happened once before and it was a bitch to solve until I figured out how, luckily this time I knew how.
It died during the night, it had something drain the battery until complete and utter zero, I have no idea what could've done it as the default battery information is kind of vague in what has been going on and my current battery application doesn't check things like that.
My question is, to avoid this happening again is there some app that I could use to log what application drains the most so that I can check out why once I've determined which app it is AND is it harmful for the li-ion battery to "die" completely? I've heard that it is, but I have no clue.
By dying I mean absolute 0% or 0.000001 (This time it had enough power to blink an indicator at least)
(After the battery has been "dead" it's a bitch turning it on or even charge it. If I put it in the default charge it boots up for a second to show the battery charge on the screen, then it dies and avoids charging. If I try to turn it on I get the same thing. I have to sneak my way in to bootload mode to then let it charge for a minute or two and then restart the device).
Any help at all would be appreciated, I don't feel like having this happen a third time as I'm uncertain that it may or may not damage my device, and that I don't want to, at all.
