Minecraft passwords

What is the minimum/maximum length of a password for minecraft?
And can you use special symbols/uppercase characters?

I'm making a list with every possible password for minecraft.

They can be uppercase and they can have symbols. One of my alt's password is *******@Z

But I'm sure if there is a minimum/maximum length for the password

Well I've seen accounts with 4 character passwords and also ones with 20+ characters.
