Not like there's anything better to watch atm. These 'shitty' anime shows have better storylines and OSTs than the garbage $250 million box office movies. Honestly I'm not an anime biggie (although I do enjoy watching it) but seeing as how most of us grew up with Spongebob as the best animated show alongside with the shitty Disney shows, anime is a huge upgrade. Have you watched an anime before?

Lots of the Studio Ghibli movies cost a dozen or so million dollars to produce and they're obviously on another level than the typical box office movies. The fantastical storylines, the soundtrack being produced by the legendary Hisashi and damn awesome artwork.

True, Japan has some weird fetishes and weird ways of portraying sexual acts in anime form (due to censors but I guess Kill la Kill didn't have a problem putting purple light spots on nipples lol). You just gotta sift through the shit in order to find the good stuff.

For all the people criticizing amine, I was like you once. I hated anime and always wondered why people would watch it.

Then one day, my friends forced me to watch SnK (Attack on Titan) and I instantly loved it. SnK is probably one of the best animes out there. Just watch at least two episodes and you'll be hooked.

I'd say Gintama though that's just my personal preference. AoT didn't do anything unique, it's all been done in past anime which is probably one of the main reasons why I didn't like it as much as I a newcomer such as you did. Things like Gundam, Akira, Astro Boy etc that redefined and popularized each genre are much better also... you shouldn't make such bold claims when you've probably only watched a dozen series out of the thousands out there. You've only merely touched the entrance so to speak.
