Wisdom teeth
Okay so I have pericoronitis (link) and this is my second time having it. I'm not having any pain with it but it is causing swelling in my gums. I talked with my dentist and he said I probably should get my wisdom teeth removed. But, I've been looking online and many articles say that once the tooth has fully grown, this issue won't happen again.

The thing is, I really do not want to get my wisdom teeth pulled. I am deadly afraid of needles and getting numbed. So I want some of ya'll's opinions. Do you think its worth it to keep my wisdom teeth in and just deal with the swelling until it fully grows out (and would this cause any future issues?) or should I suck it up and get them out?
I say you get it taken care of now because if you don't, you might never conquer your fear.
Getting them pulled now is the better idea imho.
Momentary pain to solve a long-term problem.
Better safe then sorry. Never know if not getting them out will bite you in the butt later.
The needles aren't even the worse part though. The pain and not being able to eat for awhile suck too. Im not helping am i
I decided not to pull mine out.

Well it's also the fact that I'd have to deal with the pain for a few days.

Thing is I don't have pain. I'm just worried that it might cause some other issue. Although, I might get them pulled from these responses. Plus I don't want any other issues later in life.

Can I get your reasoning behind this?

The reason I was getting them removed was because they kept hurting since they just started growing out, but after a month they were completely fine. So I decided not to remove them, since it was going to be painful.
Do it bitch, stop being a pussy.
Can't they knock you out before you get them pulled?

I had all 4 wisdoms pulled last year and they sent me off to sleep before they did it.

The pain afterwards was minimal, nothing like you hear from people saying ohh it's one of the worst things ever.
I just had a terrible experience because the painkillers they gave me made me vomit and i ended up picking up the flu a day afterwards.

Vomiting + Socket pain in your mouth + Flu = One of the worst experiences of my life.

You should be right though. :P
Just put a chainsaw in your mouth, should just neutralize the problem.
You still haven't had all your teeth fully grown? I had that shit done by 10.
Well I had my teeth pulled and there was no numbing.. Usually they just knock your ass out and remove them. The only thing that I found wrong with the whole procedure is that they sew my cheek to my gum -_- Now I have a connection there for the rest of my life. So I say just do it and get it over with.
Do it before you regret the decison a few months from now before shit gets worse, then again I can say that easily considering how we get FREE HEALTHCARE here in the UK and how I see pain as a temporary thing.
I'm having this too, still debating on whether to remove them or not...
