[Solved] VPS Server

VPS Server

So I have been able to set up server. Port forwarded ports: 8888, 2050 and 843 as the server uses those ports and can connect but when you join the server and try to go to the nexus, it says Connected! and then it won't do anything. No errors nothing. Can anyone help?

Try port-forwarding too 2050, 843, 80

Well I also did 8080 and 80

A few questions. First of all, is the nexus map correctly made? Second of all, did you edit the client/server's hello packet? Third, are all the IP's and ports correctly set?

IP and ports are correctly set. The Nexus map is made correctly and no I did not edit the client/server's hello packet

Edit: The source works on the computer. Just when we get it on the vps, it stops working. You can connect but you can't get into nexus or any other rooms/worlds.

To portforward properly on a windows vps you need to go to your advanced firewall settings and add a new incoming rule where you forward TCP Ports : 80, 443, 2050, 3306.

If you're running other server.exe ports you'll have to unlock those ports as well. My recommendation is to do the following list

80, 443, 2050, 3306, 8080, 8888

They are put in sequence in the same port forward session instead of having them all seperate.

as you can see I cannot get into nexus. I have port forwarded every port that has been mentioned in this thread and this source has no problems with it as it works on the computer

is it just from remote connections or does 127.0.0.1 connections do the same thing?

Does the same thing. I think .net frameworks isn't installed so I am going to check now. It would be a fail if it wasn't installed
