Reddit Controversy

It has been brought to my attention that someone on Reddit has gotten many people banned on other hacking forums.

This hack was not released on these forums considering the fact I am a newer moderator and I have not approved any file since I became one. According to the post on Reddit, this user registered recently and since I did not approve any files nothing was distributed.

The only way any sort of dangerous/detectable files were released was before my time here, which is not possible unless the OP was lying in his post.

There is no need to worry about this, security will be raised for the time being on any new files within the Steam section to combat any future attempts to distribute these sort of files within our community. This does, however, mean that it will take longer to approve files and the precautions taken will be much more severe.

I strongly advise to not look for hacking tools/scripts on any other hacking communities until everything is secured. This is simply to prevent anyone else from getting VAC banned as many people have already been struck with this consequence. In fact, I suggest you uninstall and reinstall Steam and stray from hacking for the time being, unless you don't particularly care about a ban.

This should end soon enough, however I will make sure all other moderators are informed about this.

Possibly but not probably.
I have been checking just to make sure, and it looks like nothing has been approved.

yep, I saw the post and my jaw dropped, it was my fucking comment in the second image! Like wtf has that comment to do with tricking us about the "fake" hack..
