HelpHow do I get started on writing my own hacks/bots?

I've got some awesome ideas in my head. Simple things which can make the game far more fun for me. I want to see them come into fruition, but I have no clue where to start. I want to be the guy who makes the cool shit, not the droves of whiny entitled children who come to these forums.

What language should I learn?
How long should it take to achieve competence in it?
What resources should I start looking into to understand how to write hacks?

I've got no programming experience, but I'm analytical minded and not retarded (hopefully).

I'm no expert when it comes to programming, but I did learn a few things at "CodeAcademy" a place with free courses for all sorts of programming. You should give it a look :P

It depends from person to person, what you want to do.

I'm going to guess that your things can be done through Realm Relay. In that case you will need to learn javascript, to make the script.

If not, I would recommend java.

If you plan on using RealmRelay then yes, do as erik said, hop onto CodeCademy and start your JavaScript journey (JS is relatively easy if you have brain);
otherwise I'm half sure that RABCDAsm disassembles the client in ActionScript 3.

In the first case learning to code hacks is sort of an easy task: grab an already made script and start studying it ( @Alde. wrote a very well made tutorial about that). If you however want to hard code them in the client, to find an example you have to dig in stuff a bit older: the last version of ye old ModSelector (where you can find what chunk of code you have to put where, making it alot easier to understand)is outdated. If ORape doesn't tell you those information (did not check, not sure) you may want to try to update one or two old mods, possibly the easier ones (I'm not looking at you, FSv2), so you can start familiarising with updating too.

Simple stuff like html, css, and some javascript were easy for me to learn when I was just entering highschool. Make a plan to teach yourself/take courses to learn a little bit every day or so and after a while it will come naturally if you keep at it. As others have mentioned, I would start with JavaScript for what it seems like you want to do. It's good to see people eager to learn, so good luck!
