Pc Temperature

Hey, build my first gaming pc this week the fps is great it is not very loud and everything is great, well almost... When i first built the pc it had some serious cpu temperatures getting 90 degrees + after even one match on warthunder and bf4 so i ordered a new cpu fan and thermal paste. I re did all my wireing to get good airflow all looking good in there, also the thermal paste is all on , had no problem applying it put a small amount in the centre using the pea method. So i boot up my pc and jump in some games to see how much improvment i have over my stock fan where i had also buggered up the thermal paste. And .... its worse in bf4 i play about half a match and hit 99 degrees basicly 100! warthunder the same and all other games alien isolation ect even games with less intense graphics. I just can not figure out why in the hell my system is so hot and it makes it unusable for gaming as it over heats within about 10 to 20 mins and i quit. My system is as follows.
Psu : Cx600w
Gpu: Msi r9 290x twinfrozr (no heat issues here)
Cpu: Intel core i5-4690k 3.5
Cpu fan: Coolermaster hyper TX3 Evo
Ram: (2x4)Gb crucial ballistix sport
Mobo: As Rock z87 extreme3

1. The CPU fan is not working efficiently, usually it should spin at 3000 rpm at full loads, but in your case it might have been spinning not more than 1200 rpm.

2. The heat sink material was not properly installed during the processor installation.

3. BIOS settings might be limiting the CPU fan to work at full potential due to acoustic settings.

Try re-applying thermal paste and remounting the cpu cooler.

that is some good stuff that is cheap. You only need an amount about equal to a grain of rice.

use good quality thermal paste and make sure the heatsink is aligned correctly ! if it is even a little bit crooked , that can already be causing trouble.

the stock standaard cooler should really do the trick .. unless your fan is getting blocked, or your bios settings are limited to some kind of rpm, try to adjust bios settings to performance instead of silent might help depending on your mobo

Maybe your sensor is broken?

Use more fans and a liquid cooling

Yes man use liquid cooling or something is wrong with yours...

more cooling if your mobo has more space for fans

Is your CPU fan on backwards?

The fan should blow air DOWN not UP, pushing air down between the heatsink fins. If the fan is installed backwards - meaning sucking air up from the heatsink, youll have a problem.

As far and liquid cooling? sure its an option, but unless you live in the desert with no AC, or are over clocking, theres no real need.

Also, are you sure no wires are getting caught in the fan blades once you put the case back together?

Try running the PC with the side panel off.

Many people suggested I go with liquid cooling, but never did, I modified my case to allow more air flow. My PC now runs cooler over all, with the case closed, than it does with the case open. Its also alot quieter.. I have a total of 5 extra fans in my case, hooked to a controller so I can control the amount of cooling vs noise.

download speed fan, and manually crank up the CPU fan, you should be able to hear it roar to life.
