LOL. I've made custom models, with custom animations mods.
As for all the crap about textures.
When you make a mod you create a UV mapping that goes along with it. These are the vertices of the model in a 2D plane that tell where each part of a texture gets mapped onto the model. Hence, the modeler decides which parts of the texture go where (but not what those parts are textured).
Obviously if you change the model, these mappings change and the model will need either an adjusted UV mapping to correct for the change, or a entirely new texture for the new mapping.
And clearly be not having any texture will be a problem and not look good. But it is easy enough to create a 10x10 square with a flat texture to atleast give it something.
And if peoples main complaint about this release is the fact the models won't have good textures or people to texture them, thats not my fault, it is the community's.
