After seeing so many threads about different types of bans, I figured it was time to make a post on the different types of bans CSGO has and what they mean/do.

VAC Bans:

VAC bans have been around for a very long time. CSGO has become valve's baby and this means they are a lot more protective of it. A VAC ban generally comes from a detected cheat being found running or on your computer. If you were a previous customer to another provider. It is suggested that you delete the client, run ccleaner, and flush your dns cache to be safe. Be sure to revert any changes to your computer the other provider made.

Untrusted Bans:

Untrusted bans are a bit more difficult because they can be multiple different things. It was almost completely replaced VAC bans for csgo because it is a faster way of getting cheaters out of matchmaking. It is known for detecting features in matchmaking and kicking you out of the game for being untrusted. However, it has also been used in the cases of detected cheats. The untrusted bans can be delayed or instant which makes it harder to tell the reasoning for it. Always, try to be mindful of what you are using for settings and save your configurations with safe settings. You can find a safe setup Here

Overwatch Bans:

Overwatch is fairly new in terms of anti-cheats and has proven to be very efficient and recently, very quick. To read more if you are unfamiliar with overwatch, click here. When the huntsman update was released, overwatch became faster to take care of hackers as fast as possible by putting unranked accounts in the queue for demo review before ranked accounts. To avoid being overwatched extremely fast, wait until you are ranked before doing anything blatant. Overwatch bans seem to be becoming VAC bans as well which can be confusing. Always check the message your account has for a cooldown in the menu before assuming you got untrusted.
