    Question Help - Missing weapon after Cross-Weapon modding REZ file

    Hello MPGH,

    I have tried replacing my default M16 (AR) with an UZI (SMG).

    I replaced all named files from M16A3 to UZI...

    When I get into the game, this is what I see:




    FYI, I previously had the M16A3 to G36 VALKIRIE mod.

    I see all my ammo, but cant shoot, nor do I have a wep on my hands ingame, but I can see my UZI on the SHOP screen.

    What can I do to fix this error? What did I miss?

    Im sure the big pros here have encountered this noob error sometime during their earlier attempts, and I would like to learn how to overcome it.

    I only replaced names, didnt modify the files themselves

    some guns can't be made into other guns.


    what you REALLY need to remember to do, is to switch ALL of the files.


    open up the extracted rez folder, use the SEARCH function to search the folder for anything name M16a3, now move these files to an empty folder.


    rename each one to UZI, and then open rez inject and the LTBS you renamed into GUNS_M_AR.rez. (after adding them remove any that are "Not Found")

    infact there is really no need to extract GUNS_M_AR.rez to find out what files to rename, just rename them all and remove the ones that aren't found. saves time, and stops mistakes.

    some of the files just dont cross well
    same happend to me when i try new things
    try mixing each file one at a time till you find which specific file causes it

    Exactly what I did... now, UZI, MAC10, and almost every weapon has ANIBASE, or ANI_XXXX , but the M16 doesnt.

    Everytime I try to cross mod, i get this error, not only with this particular wep (m16). thats why im posting. I renamed every file, sometimes I have a left over file... im going crazY! here.

    I attempted doing M16 to PP19 Camo, and happened too...

    In other ocasion I got the Medkit to replace the HeartBeat Detector, but it would not heal me... :*(

    you dont need the anibase to mod sucssesfully.....

    Which one gives the actual image? Model or Texture?

    So it would be theorically possible to only switch model files, giving the (host) weapon the attributes of the (guest) weapon such as RoF, Mobility, and Effects (by this you mean recoil?)

    switching works perfect, it will allow me to use the 2nd weapon, but not the default.

    from what iv read an experienced the host weapon if able to mix gains all attributes of the guest minus the power
    power is server sided

    Ok, here is what I do... Reztract GUNS_M_PV_SMG

    Replace Base Weapon Files:
    - CM_HND_SP_DF_M16A3_CH.LTB
    - PVMLA_M16A3.LTB
    - PVMLA_W_M16A3.LTB
    - PVMSH_M16A3.LTB

    With the Guest Weapon Files:
    - CM_HND_SP_DF_UZI_SH.LTB
    - PVMLA_UZI.LTB
    - PVMLA_W_UZI.LTB
    - PVMSH_UZI.LTB

    Using the Inject process.

    And I get that error.
