If you would have to flee Germany to go to another country - leaving most of your family behind - would it be your primary target to learn the language? I don't think so. You'll slowly adapt to the culture, but everything takes time. I worked with some Syrians who fled a few months ago, and they've gone through hell, winter's coming up and they are partly still sleeping outside. It's natural that people converse with people of the same / similar background, especially if they speak the same language and are facing the same issues, so no, they don't expect you to learn their language and culture.

For the people that say: ''Following a religion (In this case Islam, but could be any other) is dumb and pointless:
The Qu'ran, the holy book of Islam, is a guidance on how to live life; what to do, what not to do. It explains the whats and whys (Helping the less fortunate, not hurting your own body, not stealing, not killing etc.). It isn't just a book about worshipping a higher power throughout one's life.

I was an agnotic after 15 years of being a Muslim, and life felt meaningless. There's someting that helped spiritually and mentally having a religion to follow. But I respect anyone's decision and belief. Think and do whatever you want in life, but don't be an asshole about it. Nobody likes assholes.
