Ping shows it's live. Did you put "Server=server.alteriw.net" (without the brackets) into the alterIWnet.ini file?
Also did you run "alterIWnet_configure.exe" to set your NickName?

EDIT: now, 27 minutes after this post, the server IS down, when i posted this i was playing since i have cod in windowed so it doesnt freeze/crash, but now it sais that i might have wrong alteriwnet server when the console wants to start loading so i guess its cureently down :P gonnna go watch a movie
