Hospitals are making some fucking money (26,000$)
Just got a bill for over 26K from the hospital. A member of my family was having a tad of mental trouble. I wonder how much goes to insurance...

26k ? WOW
That's a lot of profit for that hospital.
troll, i sent the bill
now send me teh moni
hospitals rip you off way to much
Hospitals get so much because of insurance. If there wasn't insurance, god forbid they actually have to charge reasonable prices. They charge insurance ridiculous amounts, then their insurance charges them ridiculous amounts. In turn, the biomedtech companies who see this profit ratchet up the cost of their products to ridiculous amounts as well, forcing hospitals to charge more to make that enormous profit and buy more machines, thus perpetuating the cycle. It's a positive feedback loop, so it won't stop till something snaps. Probably the ordinary people, seeing as 1/6 of the country is on medicare.
Laissez-faire is what encourages corporate bastardry like this. Sometimes the government has to draw the line.
Hospitals may charge you with insane amounts of money but hospitals also have retardedly huge operating costs. It costs them a shit ton to keep their staff, buy equipment, maintain the equipment and building, buying any sort of medical item such as medicine etc. The whole system has hyper inflated costs which means patients have to pick up the tab.
jesus. that's a lot of fucking money.
They always have.. doctors in general..
Thats why im becoming one ! SURGEON WOHO.
