    A. What Types of Non-Personal Information Does EA Collect?

When you use EA online and mobile products and services or you play our games on your PC or game system, we may collect certain non-personal demographic information including gender, zip code, information about your computer, hardware, software, platform, game system, media, mobile device, including device IDs, incident data, Internet Protocol (IP) address, network Media Access Control (MAC) address and connection. We also collect other non-personal information such as username, user ID or persona, feature usage, game play statistics, scores and achievements, user rankings and click paths as well as other data that you may provide in ******s, via your account preferences and online profiles such as friends lists or purchases, for instance. We may also receive either non-personal or public information from third parties in connection with market and demographic studies and/or data that we use to supplement personal information provided directly by you.
For they lazy guys, that means with installing origin you agree that they can see what you download, all your programms(hacks), illegal stuff, all your porn and if u link your facebook they can even get personal data about you.

be warned. hide ur kids hide ur wife.

"By installing Origin you're giving EA the right to monitor your PC and to make a profile of you, including what programs you have installed (and whether you have any illegally downloaded material), what websites you use, etc., and that EA reserves the right to share or sell this information to third parties."

Can Origin even log what I'm doing when it's not running?
There must be a way to totally kill the spyware and only have it log my stuff while I'm playing.

    Edit:
Report: EA and Valve in late-stage talks to get Battlefield 3 to Steam

According to an anonymous report BF3Blog received from inside Valve, the developer/publisher is currently in late-stage talks with EA in bringing Battlefield 3 to the Steam digital distribution service. The rumor says that Battlefield 3 would be available on Steam just in time for the game’s release on October 25.

According to the report, EA and Valve are very close to reaching an agreement regarding sales of DLC content, which is the main reason Battlefield 3 is not on Steam: Valve requires that all DLC is sold through Steam, while EA would prefer to sell via its own channels. This was the cause of another EA title, Crysis 2, for being pulled from Steam earlier this year.

Many PC gamers have lobbied both EA and Valve to put Battlefield 3 on Steam for a while now. It looks like it’ll finally happen soon.

We’ve reached out to EA and Valve for a comment on this story.
A friend just sent me this. I don't know where he got it from, though.

Q: What type of information does the Origin application collect?

EA knows that you care how information about you is collected, used and shared, and we appreciate your trust that we will do so carefully. In addition to information that you give EA directly when creating an Origin ID and profile, EA collects non-personally identifiable (or anonymous) information for purposes of improving our products and services, providing services to you, facilitating the provision of software updates and dynamically served content, troubleshooting bugs and product support as well as communicating with you. This and all other data provided to EA and/or collected by EA in connection with your installation and use of Origin is collected, used, stored and transmitted in accordance with EA’s Privacy Policy. We do not sell your personally identifiable information to anyone, nor do we ever use spyware or install spyware on your machine. For more information, please review the Origin End User Licensing Agreement, which can be found here: Electronic Arts Online Disclosures for PC Games.

Seems a little contradictory from what you posted. Was this stuff in the EULA?

    B. How Does EA Collect Non-Personal Information?

EA collects non-personal information along with personal information when you actively provide it in the context of various online and mobile activities including online and mobile purchases, game registration and marketing ******s, for instance. In addition, we and other third parties use cookies and other technologies to passively collect non-personal demographic information, personalize your experience on our sites and monitor advertisements and other activities as described below. We may also derive from the information collected other facts, such as determining the applicable tax rate based on your IP address. <-------------- this

That isn't a bad idea... but I am not not too worried about what EA is getting off my computer. Probably a list of programs installed, nothing having to do with personal information or personal files.

    Seriously... just shut up

You guys are making this a way bigger deal than it is. They will just use it to recommend ads (not spam; ads you would have already seen) and to check for suspicious files like hacks running with the games.

Just don't hack and nothing will even happen. Either way it's not like the fucking FBI is going to show up at your house and tell you to come with them. They'll just ban your copy of the game and be done with it.
