1.9.3 Awkward Potions

I did some Brewing in 1.9.3 earlier to have a look at the potions you are able to craft so far
I've only worked on the Positive potions
There are three different 'Base' potions

Here are the results from the Awkward Base
This base is made by using nether warts on top of water bottles in a brewing stand.
I found 6 items that worked
Sugar, Ghast tears, Blaze Dust, Magma cream, Glow Stone and Red Stone.


Speed Potion

This increases your overall walking speed as well as your sprinting for 3 minuntes.

Using sugar above 3 Awkward potions makes a potion of swiftness, Or a potion of speed. Using Glowstone on these potions turns them into Potion of Swiftness II, Or Speed potion Tier 2. Using Redstone on these potions returns them to tier one however It makes the effect last for 8 minutes instead of the normal 3 of the tier 1


Health Potion

This Instantly restores your health as the name would suggest. One use per potion.

Using Ghast tears above your awkward potion creates a potion of Instant health. From what I know Tier 1 restores your health by 3 hears. Tier two is reached by using glowstone. I think this gives you 6 hearts. Using redstone will revert it back to Tier 1


Strength Potion

This potion will increase your strength for 3 minutes.

Brewed by placing blaze dust above Awkward potions. Tier one Doubles your attack. Just like the previous potions glowstone makes tier 2, redstone forms tier one with 8 minutes.


Resist Fire Potion

Drink this and you will take no fire damage for 3 minutes.

Using Magma Cream above Awkward potions give you Potion of Fire Resistance Glowstone has no effect on this potion, however redstone increases the time to 8 minutes

These are only the positive potions.
You can obtain negative potions by using spider eyes or fermented spiders eyes.

It adds a whole lot more to the game
Not sure if his plan all along was to include potions etc but to get Most of the ingredients you must go to the Nether.
I'm not sure if he just wanted to add something to the nether

Yeah I would have made a video like this is my pc and internet could handle it

A lot has been added to the nether recently all of which is used in the potions. But it was all added before brew-able potions
