I believe some sections are like that, some sections don't really need it though, even if it is a release section.
But this is a good idea
I think that for sections where releases are made, entire threads should need to be approved instead of attachments. A virus was just posted in the MS section with a fake virus scan and an outside link spaced out like "media fire" -- some of our members could have been added to some ******'s iStealer.txt -- for sections that aren't for downloads we can just stick to the normal attachment pending approval thing.
There is no need for that .
Simply don't download outside links .

Already suggested this before but never got an answer. There are some sections that have this but I think all release sections w/ minions should have it. Minions would just check the thread format and the file and decide whether to approve the thread or not. Other people won't see the thread until minion approves it.
members should know outside links are mostly viruses
Also we won't really be losing members because most people with over 500 posts are retarded
The people that click them are just leechers
No attachments are already approved by minions
Only the less literate ones are going to download and run a random .exe -- it doesn't matter about their activity on the site. And, it wouldn't really be more work for the minions -- most releases are downloads, so instead of approving an attachment they'll just approve the entire thread before anyone can see it.
I some what support the idea I only feel it could be necessary for bigger sections and for hack release area's because thats the first place advertisers make their threads plus if we need to approve the attachment anyways whats approving the thread going to hurt us with; its not like we would be approving every single thread being made in the whole sub forum.
It'd actually be less work for minions. Minions already check to make sure everyone follows the thread format and they already check for attachments.
With this, minions won't have to worry about people advertising or posting outside links to viruses in releases section since that's where most advertising and outside links to viruses are posted.
What you have all said has now convinced me it is a good idea
Whether or not it happens is a different matter
Most of you haven't been staff, imagine logging in to have 5 attachments, and 15 threads waiting to get approved, plus clean up everything else.
Thread approval is a bad idea, just keep an eye out and report shit.
