Brutal has a fine point and I concede that we don't have any substantial proof of the "Betterness" of past games, more so it is a snob appeal based on generational separation and nostalgia. Granted, having to deal with less fluff has created a more humbled view point for new games. An Example of this could be how younger kids complain about small glitches continually where as an older player merely notices the glitch and acknowledges the work put into the game.

I sure do miss the good ol' days. Rocking out with 4 player Goldeneye, Crash Bandicoot, Crash Team Racer, all the Marios, Donkey Kong, Tekken 1/2/3. Hell even some of the older PS2 and XBOX (Fusion Frenzy) games were pretty oldschool.

It is rather a shame that the trend is now graphics over gameplay.

Also Goldeneye is better, because is no flashiness, no OP weapons, as long as you were good with aiming you can take anyone out, 4 player games had REAL teamwork that isn't objective based. Because there was no online, there was no system link, you literally needed REAL skills to kill anybody because everyone could screen cheat.

Games 10-20 years ago were "fun" and "creative". Games today are "intense" and "immersive"

Just see the games these days, looks like they have lost creativity, it's all about fucking FPS with a generic story (or just add guns, who need a story?), but who cares, stupid teenagers and actual target audience support this.
