I went to school in America, I went on to college and have two majors under my belt.
Please keep in mind that it's not all of America that fails regarding education, it tends to be based on demographic.
Now don't get me wrong, I think education in this country took a massive blow.
Cuts tend to happen on a wide spectrum when the economy tanks, but no need to be overly sensationalist with the pessimism.

Understandable, I may have been a bit harsh, however I'm working off of my experiences with New Jersey education. Christie does nothing but fuck the public school systems, all I have seen are rich kids barely able to solve for x when it says x=2 because the teachers with tenure just do not care about teaching.

Though as a Nation as a whole, I would say we are far behind a couple European countries in Math. The history and sciences are decent, not great but decent, though Math is definitely lacking.

Honestly nigga, you're the one in ten in this country who's actually a smart motherfucker, and I wouldn't credit Americas educational system to your intelligence, more along the lines of personal mental comprehension. Though my college experience thus far is limited, I can say it definitely surpasses HS, though the distance between the two is so ridiculously large it's intimidating to people who are thinking of going to college, then again we only have the NCLB to thank for that

Calculus is a form of mathematics invented separately by Isaac Newton and Gottfried Leibniz
Newton invented it in order to describe how planetary motion works with gravity
Leibniz invented it when he was "messing around" with functions on graphs
