Tactics!
Head on head,

something YOU DON'T WANNA GET IN TOO! I can't say this enough!

But, sometimes you do get in them. You need to know 3 things than:

  • Where are your guns mounted?
  • Do you have multiple guns (Over 6 guns)?
  • Where are the enemy's guns mounted?

Tip 1: When your guns are on your wing try to wigle with the plane to get some bullits in his engine(s) or pilot. Also start firing from a distance, like 1km away. Dont just start firing when the reticle pups up. If you have your guns mounted on your wings and none on your nose you have a big change of loosing, unless the enemy also has guns in his wings and none in his nose.

Tip 2: If you have a gun(s) on your nose you have a big change of winning, but you need to know when to fire and WHERE! I see alot of guys with guns mounted on there nose going for the wings in a head on head fight. Never do that! Always go for the PILOT! Its a fast kill!

Tip 3: Know your enemy's plane, if you know the enemy's plane and where his guns are and what for guns he has (Cannons/machine guns) you automaticly know where he will probebly hit you. If its a critical part, like your engine(s) you can try to turn a bit so he misses most of his shots.

Keep in mind that when you go head on head with an enemy you will get hit MOST OF THE TIMES! I would say 90% of all the head on heads ive been in they have either hit me alot or just criticaly damaged me. And if you dont turn away at the right time you will colide! At 200-500 meters start turning to whatever direction, up, down, left or right it doesn't matter. If you are un-lucky the enemy will also turn the same direction you are turning and will still colide in you.

Getting tailed.

A nasty thing, you never want to get tailed but probebly will get most of the times.

Now there are a couple of things you can do to save yourself!

Tip 1: NEVER, and i mean NEVER make a hard turn to the right, left, up or down and making yourself a BIGGER TARGET!

This is what i mean:

You can still make a hard turn if you KNOW FOR SURE you are better manouvrable than the enemy that is tailing you or you have such good armor that even if he hits you with 50 bullits you wont go down. (The IL-4 example has really good armor, but dont think its undestructable!)

Tip 2: Always go toward your team mate/base. If you play arcade go toward your friendly spawn. This will make the enemy on your tale a easy target for your team mates and he will probebly get shot down. It saved me alot of times but keep in mind that when getting tailed you will probebly be damaged or criticaly damaged so always try to land and repair.

Tip 3: This is a bit risky but it saved me ALOT OF TIMES! Now try to picture yourself in a plane and your enemy who is tailing you has the exact same plane. So you cant really out manouvre him or go so fast that he wont be able too keep up. What you wanna do then is just SLOW DOWN, get your engine power to 20%. Keep looking at your enemy and ofcourse try to manouvre a bit, again, don't make hard turns. Just manouvre little bit so you will not get hit by most of his bullits. Now you are slowing down, when he gets really close to you (200-300 meters) get down your FLAPS, make a HARD TURN TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT and get your throtle to 100% or 109% and keep circling around. It will now become a real dogfight between you 2 and ofcourse after the hard turn get your flaps back up.

Tip 4: GO LOW, this saved me alot of times. It really helps alot! When you are flying just a couple meters above the ground/water the enemy will have a really hard time to hit you. Just keep it low and manouvre alot. If there are trees go TOWARD THEM! This will force you to make small turns to the left and right so you dont hit the trees but the enemy will not be able to shoot you couse he will also be way too busy with the trees. And always FLY TOWARD YOUR BASE!

Boom and zooming.

A really easy thing to do, BUT you need a couple of things:

  • A fast plane (Jets/fighters are the best for this kind of tactic)
  • Atleast 1 good gun mounted.
  • Patience

Tip 1: Get a good altitude, try to get above EVERY OTHER PLANE in the match.
Tip 2: Have a good fast plane and one that doesnt loose speed in a klim fast!
Tip 3: Pick your target CAREFULLY! Don't attack a plane that is in a cluster fuck with 20 other planes. Go for planes that are totaly alone and dont have an escort. Most times you will be going for bombers that are going a high altitude or a enemy plane that is flying totaly alone. And if i say alone i mean the plane doesn't have a team mate close to him.
Tip 4: If you are diving on a plane and you shot him but didn't kill him, DONT BE AN IDIOT and dogfight him. No, get back some altitude and dive of him AGAIN. NEVER DOGFIGHT!
Bonus Tip: Best propellor planes for boom and zooming: Yak-9T, Bf 109 F4, Bf 109 G2, Bf 109 G6, Bf 109 G10, Bf 109 K4/R6, FW 109's, La-5FN, La-7, Tempest, Typhoon Mk 1B, Mustang and the N1K2. THESE ARE GOOD PLANES FOR BOOM AND ZOOMING, this doesn't mean they cant dogfight!

I will update this later on, i have couple more tips but i need some time. Leave a tanks if i helped
