U.S. National Motto

It is completely related when America's constitution is meant to uphold the separation of church and state yet the official motto contradicts this. And don't say that nobody cares about a motto either, that's just a cowards excuse for not wanting to take action against something.

I am up for separation between church and state, but I do not see this as church and state not being separated.
It says "In God We Trust", it does not say "In The Christian God We Trust".
That could be literally any god.

It means "One from Many". Basically talking about How we formed a country our of many separate states. Also could mean in modern times how we are a country made up of all different cultures

If Church and State truely were divided, there wouldn't be as much legal issues surrounding just letting anyone get married.

God is associated with ANY religion. Non religious folks don't associate with any gods. That is the principle of religion. Separation of church and state is the separation of religion and the government, not just Christian churches.

Was doing some reading after finding this petition... Apparently, this was already addressed in another petition, and the Obama administration declined to change it. Obviously, because it would be absolute suicide to do it politically. Congress voted something like 90%+ to reaffirm it last year.

I am so damn tired of fundamentals hijacking this country.
