I don't usually play Xerath cause I don't play mid, but he's pretty OP if hes farmed cause he can poke really hard.
You guys got any tips on Xerath?
I've watched Champion Spotlight on it, also about 3 hours of gameplay and and got all the build items written down.
If you own Xerath, what is your build and is it OP?
Thanks
This is Xerath BTW.

hes sometimes used in lcs in some poke comps. He isnt an all in type of mid (assasin), so I don't like him :P
But he's rly good in sieging towers and stuff, cause he can do alot of aoe dmg on a low-ish cooldown (especially late game with 40% cdr)
So the other team cant engage cause they're too low on hp, and you get a free objective, or you engage on them when your normal cds are back on.
Depends on the team comp, xerath burst owns everybody else's, and is long ranged, however, opposed to other apc's, he is usually stuck in that one spot while using his burst.
I have played a fair amount of games with xerath in ranked (35 games, 28 wins to 7 losses) or something like that, 80% win ratio roughly.
He is best played against an ad-based comp, because of his passive.
If you are against an ad comp/ad mid, you're going to want to rush a zhonya's (after chalice of course, because mana regen is needed).
You really don't need much health, just try to position properly, and stay in the back line, and you should be good to go. Think of xerath as a sniper. You don't want to be near the other team, but you want to be able to pick off one of them, or if they are close together, just wreck shit with your ult.
PM me if you need any more help
Xerath has great poke, but miss your abilities in any situation, and you're bummed.
I can't play Xerath for the life of me.
Rep. Power: 126
Minion: 11/28/12-3/15/14
Try to look at your positioning constantly.
Put some deep wards in so u can poke their team down.
Get 40%~ CDR to max ur dmg output.
Use ur w in a good way. remember u get a speed boost off of it when u used it.
Rylays + liandries is OP cus ur poking. ALOT.
Items all depend on who ur laning against plus howgood ur lane opponent is, if u get ganked yes or no.
Just play and figure out urself :P
The ulti burst on Xerath is amazing and the poke is great.
If you feel secure enough you can build him bursty w/o defensive items or if getting dove a lot you can go a more rugged route.
Xerath is very strong but not for the reasons most players tend to gravitate towards. He gets free 40% mpen while in his W which is absurdly powerful, especially when paired with the mastery and a void staff, giving you 80% pen in addition to your flat pen items and runes. His burst while his ult is up is very powerful however when its down he has a hard time bursting champions down. Since CDR is such a priority on him, he often is used in higher level play to force an opposing champion to back by blowing a full combo on them whenever his ult is off cooldown and then taking an objective such as dragon, a tower, or even baron in rare situations.
