Not really a good idea for them. First attempt at an MMO and they are trying a subscription based method. Do they really think they will turn out as successful as Blizzard with Wow? Probably not considering Blizzard released non subscription based games beforehand and let alone their next big game is supposedly not going to be either.

You basically get to play the game for free but there are certain aspects of the game that are locked and reserved for premium players.
p2p mmo's are pretty much dead, most of the titles that were subscription based ended up going f2p with cash shops.

They dun goofed, but I partially expected this, it is a Zenimax game after all so it was never in the safest of hands. But I agree, they would have done much better with a GW style fee, especially with Skyrim being so popular. A lot of casuals will get turned off by the idea of a monthly sub, so there goes half the player base.
