The Survivors... Pt. 1


Weary from their long journey the survivors trudged down the road that fate had set them down.
It was a raggedy looking group. An Old Man who could barley keep up with the group, A fierce looking African American gentleman who looked like he could take a punch and give one too. A mother and her 5 year old son. The boy didn't speak much and when he did it wasn't complete sentences.

Together now surviving, they looked for any gleam of hope in the freshly devastated country side of Chernarus. The hordes of zombies offered no shelter for such a under geared group of survivors. They had nothing but flashlights to guard them from the onslaught of undead.

Having narrowly escaped a group walkers they followed the shore line in hopes of something to save them.
And then they saw it. A firelight in the distance. Moving closer it became clear it was a camp. One beyond their wildest dreams.

Rows and rows of 252 slot Military Tents lined up neatly stocked with goods. Food for days... They were saved! And the best part was there was no one else at the camp...
Or so they thought.

The fire burned brightly as the travelers settled in. Little did they know that this camp has inhabited by Savage Blackskull Bandits. Feeding on the flesh of their foes they traveled by night searching for sleeping victims. And while the raiding party was out.... There was still one bandit at the camp....

Is it actually worth it to use tents to build a base? When I played original Dayz mod my tents were always robbed no matter how hard I tried to hide them. So eventually I stopped building bases because I didn't want to provide pesky thieves with free loot. In Epoch I could at least shove tents into some glitchy spot where they were safe.

So, is it any better now?

Easiest way to get geared in the mod - just hunt for tents. Even before I made a map hack that showed tent locations, its never took too long to find a base. I would always empty them completely and then fill them up with empty cans and such so they knew they were robbed and their gear didnt just "glitch" out.
